Cute Plus Size Pin Up Style Outfit for Work Using Opposite Colors on the Color Wheel with a Baby Blue Swing Skirt and Long Sleeve Orange Shirt
I worked at Old Navy from July 2005 to sometime late in 2007. As a result, I have a million clothes from there. Both the skirt and shirt are from there. Why It Works as a Vintage Style Plus Size Outfit for Work
I'm well covered from head to toe though the skirt length is short. I wore leggings underneath, both for work-appropriate attire and for comfort. The colors are the exact opposite on the color. That is one of my favorite ways to build an outfit: instead of wearing coordinating colors, wear exact opposite colors. The contrast is unique and interesting. As you can see, light blue--the color of my skirt--is the exact opposite color of my shirt, bright orange. The clash makes for a unique outfit ensemble that really pops.
Cheap Pin Up Fashion Elements
When I worked at Old Navy, I'd really score during the 50% clearance days. Both these pieces are from Old Navy Clearance. So, not ony were they clearnace items that were half off. I'd also get an additional 20% of the half off discount for being an employee. And even if the quality isn't fancy store type, with a large wardrobe, everything's lasted pretty long.
My belt is also a bargain hunter item, from a plus size thrift store in New Orleans on Freret St called "Full Blossom Chic" but it has, sadly, since gone out of business.
Plus Size Pin Up Styling Tips
The top and skirt are both size Large Old Navy. It's a comfy, stretchy material outfit. I wear the thick black belt in the middle to hlep enhance my curvy hourglass figure for pinup flair. The little blue leopard print hair rosette also add some pinup style.
