Cool Tone Dress with Corduroy Turquoise Bolero, Black Leggings and Turquoise, Green and Black Accessories: A Pretty Pin Up Style Plus Size Outfit for Work on My First Day with Jet Black Hair
This was the first outfit I wore after dying my hair black. I knew the turquoise and other cool tones would work well with the new blue-black, because I did a lot of research on what would look good with my new colors of jet black hair with pale skin and blue eyes. I picked these turquoises, greens, black and blues to help accentuate this new look.
I purchased this dress in cool tones of green, blue and off-white for a beach wedding back in 2007. So on it's own, it is more of a summetime dress. However, with the mathcing colored, heavy corduroy jacket and the black leggings, it works as an early Spring plus size outfit for work.
The thick belt was vintage from a plus size thrift store in New Orleans (has since gone out of business, sadly). The headband is very pin up style, as well as the bow. Both are from Family Dollar, about a dollar a piece (from a set).
The high waist belt, headband with little bow, and chunky oval necklace add a pin-up flair, not to mention my Bettie bangs and newly black, softly curled locks. I really love my hair this color, even if it is the exact opposite of the hair color I was born with. (I was a white blonde blondie. It got more strawberry blonde over time.)
